Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011)

What I watched: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011)

How I watched: IMAX

Dinner: Fries, water
harry-potter-and-the-deathly-hallows-part-2-52ee12b8b4fa3Synopsis: Narrowly evading capture from the Death Eaters, the trio return to Hogwartz, the site of the final battle for freedom in the Magical world.

Why I watched: It was playing a limited run in IMAX and I made a big event out of it when it was initially released.

Notes: Despite the fact that Part 2 is far more action-oriented than Part 1, this is the climactic film and sees several beloved characters meet their end. As a result this film had me tearing up on more than one occasion. I think not having seen this film since the death of Alan Rickman made Snape’s death difficult to watch (my depth of feeling surprised me). Still a great film five years later and when you see these two films, (Sorcercer’s Stone and Hallows: Part 2) blown up to IMAX size back-to-back, you can also see how much film quality has improved in the 10 years between the two, the final film is pristine.

Recommend: Yes, but again, give the previous films a watch first.
