Who Do You Think You Are: “Brendan O’Carroll”

What I watched: Who Do You Think You Are“Brendan O’Carroll” (original air date: August 28, 2014)

How I watched: Streamed

Snacks: None

Synopsis: Brendan O’Carroll tries to find out more about his grandfather, who was murdered during the Irish civil war.

Why I watched: I’m close to having seen all the episodes I can find.

Notes: I’m always surprised how interesting these stories are, when I have no attachment to the person they are about. O’Carroll started this search with the suspicion that the Black and Tans had killed his grandfather who was affiliated with the original IRA. By the end of the episode and after a lot of searching and narrowing down, he had the identity of the killer, conducted a reenactment at the site of the murder and found out that the killer was a professional hit-man who was never penalized!

Recommend: If you are interested in history, yes.
